Still Here

I haven't written in forever.  Still here.  Grayson is talking better and better each day. He is getting a lot better about knowing his numbers and letters.  He surprises me everyday.  Picking out numbers and letters throughout our daily life activities such as standing in line at the grocery store and pointing out the check out lane number lights.  He is still really into trains.  Loves Mario Cart.  He is into the movies Happy Feet and Sandlot.  Tells me he loves me everyday.... which I don't mind.  Still really stubborn.  Can't tell him to do anything, especially using the potty for the life of me.  Loves to jump off of anything he can stand on.  We took him to a River Bandits game a month or so ago.  He loved it.  Hopefully I can get him back there again this season.  He met the mascot, got to eat a hot dog, got to go out of the stadium and watch a train go by, and watched fireworks.  It was a good time.  We watched the Blue Angels this past weekend.  He thought that was pretty neat as well. The picture above is from the weekend.  I believe he was looking for the planes.

Christmas

Yesterday I had to work (Saturday) so Jim came over and watched Grayson while I was gone. When I came back this is what I found when I opened the door. I couldn't believe it but I could. History Channel was blaring on the TV and it looked like Grayson's toy box exploded. Jim says they fell asleep around the same time... Grayson's version is daddy fell asleep so he decided he should go to sleep too. I think they had a good time to say the least.

Christmas and New Years flew by. About a week before Christmas, Grayson got to meet Santa. The Eldridge Library had a get together on Saturday morning. They had a train set up for the kids to watch and they also got to frost cookies. Grayson loved the train. It was his favorite part. His friend Aiden from daycare was there too so that made it even better. Grayson did sit on Santa's lap but once he realized he was on a strangers lap he wanted off. Although he was on long enough to tell him he wanted a blue boat for Christmas.

Date with Nemos

Somebody likes sushi...  Will, Katie, Grayson and I went to the mall to do some shopping. When we got done we decided to get dinner somewhere and that somewhere was a sushi place.  I was a little hesitant since Grayson was coming with us.  We ended up telling him we were going to go eat Nemos.  He thought this was great.  Apparently some dots havent been connected yet.  So we ordered him some chicken and we got the sushi.  He LOVES sushi, or maybe its the idea of eating Nemos.  I dont know.  He hardly touched the chicken.

Halloween and Tractors

Here are a few pictures from about the past month.
Grayson dressed up as a bat for halloween.  It took a little effort to get him into the costume. Talk about playing mind games.  Grandma Donna had to put it on her head and dance around the house trying to "fly away."
It worked.

We also carved pumpkins this year.  Of course Grayson had to help.  Once I had the top opened up and ready to be emptied he wasn't so sure.  It didn't seem quite right to be sticking his hands in that pumpkin.  After he saw me pulling the guts out a couple of times he wanted to do it and nobody else.

Grayson got to ride on a tractor about a week before Halloween.  He loved it.   A guy my family has known for many years took him out with his crew for a bit one day.

Napping Location

I have a lot more to update on but its late and I just really wanted to post this.  This picture was taken in our kitchen today.  You can see the legs of our table and chairs in the picture.  All his idea.  He had originally wanted his 10-15 stuffed animals that are usually on his bed out on the floor with him.   At the time he brought them out I thought he really wasnt serious.  Like all two year olds they think they want something but really its the opposite.  Once he laid down it was maybe five minutes at the most and he was out. I am really surprised he wanted to sleep there.  He has always slept in his bed.  Whatever it was really cute.  When he woke up he had forgotten where he was and why he was there. There were tears.  I will try and update sometime this week.  I have more pictures to post since I last wrote anything.

Picking out Pumpkins

So this weekend we all went to Wallaces to pick out pumpkins to carve.  Grayson had a lot of fun there picking out a pumpkin.  I am sure when it gets to be later in the week he will think his is actually mine.  We also went to church today and they had trick or treating.  He was a little leary of all the scary costumes but I think he had fun.

Home Alone

Grayson and I are holding down the fort at my parents house this week.  We haven't killed each other yet.  All of the pets are still alive too.  Hopefully it stays that way.  Grayson has been a chatter box this week.  Diane said he has been talking a lot over there too.  He got a cold towards the end of the week though.  It makes nights kinda long.  He wakes up a lot since his nose is stuffed up.  I was putting him to bed tonight and Stella started barking just about the time he was really trying to go to sleep.  I said the dog's name, and she kept on barking.  All of a sudden Grayson goes "Stella shut up!!!"  I wonder where he got that from...
